Home at Last!

After 5 weeks of a location-induced blogging reprieve, I’m back from by big trip out East. I checked my Google reader and have nearly 600 unread posts! It’ll take me a month just to catch up.

Although I suffered limited internet access, I was still able to correspond with my beta-readers, and can’t tell you how much I looked forward to getting their chapters. Not only that, I received incredibly helpful feedback on my work. Thank you Scott, Susan, Bryan, and Laura.

I also want to acknowledge Lady Glamis’ post, Going Dark, over at the Innocent Flower. Michelle, I’ll miss your frequent presence on so many blogs, but I respect, no, admire your decision. I have confidence that you’ve got your priorities straight, and you’ll reap the benefits and blessing—not only in your personal life, but also in your writing.

Time to unpack...and then read, read, read...

  1. Welcome, home! I'm only sorry I'm not still in Michigan... but I sure hope we can "do lunch" next summer. :-) (you know I had to send a wee emoticon your way...)

P.S. Thanks for the heads-up about Michelle. I've been so slammed lately that I didn't even notice her revelation. Seems to be going around lately - she's not the only one to quit blogging for darn good reasons. I sure do feel her pain sometimes...

  2. It's good to be home :) (there, that wasn't even hard!)
I'm looking forward to cathching up on your blogs. Honestly, I don't know how you do it all.
I don't have nearly as much going on as it seems you and Michelle (or many of the other bloggers I follow), and even I have trouble keeping up.
Hope all is going well down South!

  3. Wow, 600 posts piled up in 5 weeks. I have trouble keeping up to a few everyday-I'd never catch up. Welcome back!

  4. Yes, Deb, and 17 of them are yours—I read them all! Now, I just have to make the time to go back and comment on some of them.
    Thanks for popping in!

  5. I'm so glad you are back! I can't even convey just how much. I missed you. Can't wait to catch up.

  6. Aw, shucks, Susan...
    The feeling is mutual!

  7. Wow, thank you for your kind thoughts. That means so much. I'm not completely dark because I'm still posting on the Literary Lab, but it feels weird not to spend so much time here in the blogosphere. I'm keeping up with big things that go on, though, like you returning! I'm so glad you're back and that you had a great time. 5 weeks is a long time1

  8. Michelle,
I’m glad to see you still around, especially to see your face amongst my followers, and on some of the other blogs that I follow.
I guess pacing is the trick of it, with all this blogging stuff. Even now, it’s tempting to sit at my computer for hours, neglecting everything else—big and small. (Ironic that after 16 hours of sitting in a car, I’m so content to sit some more.) I should at least go out while we still have some nice weather and dig up my dahlias—maybe even take a walk.

  9. Yep, I've spent time sitting here as well, but the day is at least sunny today. Must go outside!
