Commenting Award!

I just received this Super Comments Award from Strange Fiction, over at Ranch Girl Ramblings.

Here’s the thing of it; I don’t have much in the way of helpful insights to offer here on my blog (trying to do better with that), but I do read a number of blogs and generally read every one of their comments. Many of them are thought provoking.

It took me a long time to muster up courage to leave comments, and I will admit that I give each one more than cursory thought before I post it.

The bloggers I’m awarding are ones who have made me feel comfortable. As a general rule, they graciously acknowledge each comment left on their posts. They even comment here at times (some with amazing consistency). I do not take for granted the time spent making your followers and commenters feel welcome.
Not to mention the fact that you stop by and baffle the echos here on my blog.

Laura Martone, Laura’s Simple Pleasures
Susan Mills, A Walk in My Shoes
Lady Glamis, The Innocent Flower
Bryan Russell, The Alchemy of Writing
Weronika Janczuk, * Home Weronika Janczuk
The only requirement for claiming your award, is pass it on to 5 other worthy commenters!

  1. I think the winners should have to do more than that to claim their prizes. You let them off too easy.

  2. Now Rick, I did not make up the rules. I know, your thinking, why couldn’t she nominate me with such simple award? Well, I could have, but I hated to see your blog go the way of the Bloggy Awards Slushpile.

Maybe I’ll make up that award—I’ll make the logo something from a Don Martin cartoon and that way it would fit nicely over at your place.

  3. I'm gonna have to build a cyber-shelf or something... Low lumber costs, at least. :)

And thanks! I like commenting, as when I started my blog I was hoping it would be a conversational sort of thing, a place where writers could chat about writing. I was kind of leary of the online journal idea, where I'm pouring myself out into the ether... so conversations about writing seemed more me. Plus I wouldn't have to annoy Nathan as much... (mucho comments to read there)

  4. Well, if you hadn’t commented so much on Nathan’s blog, I wouldn’t have found yours.

You know I like your writing—makes me want to be a better writer, and at the very least, it makes me feel like commenting.

  5. Ah, thank you! It's coming right back at you!

  6. Oh, sheesh, another award?! But my head's starting to expand!

Seriously, thanks, Bridget! Unlike Mr. Ungrateful (you know who you are, Rickypoo!), I very much appreciate the nod. Although now I feel added pressure to be an even BETTER commenter (especially on the Public Query Slushpile).

P.S. You know I'm kidding, right, Rick? Uh, Mr. Daley, sir?
